Isaac & Nina

COURTYARD WEDDING

20 FEBRUARY 2021 - COSSARS WINESHED

Isaac and Nina took Covid restrictions in their stride - no longer able to have the Fiji beach wedding they were hoping for, “Take 2!” was instead held in the beautiful courtyard at Cossars Wineshed. The vintage couches and festoon lights set the scene… and it was utterly gorgeous.

Throughout Issac and Nina’s relationship, they have learned that true love is not a fantasy, but something that they must consciously choose every day. As well as everyday adventures, they have experienced the hardship of family loss, and the joys of parenting together - and are stronger for it.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

Isaac and Nina’s ceremony was full of laughter. We all cracked up when Isaac had to dash from the ceremony to find a forgotten page from the handwritten vows… and when I asked Matthias for the rings, but he had cooler things to do and had disappeared to play (Alyssa shouted for him at the top of her lungs and he came running!).

These two were some of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I just know that you will have a beautiful marriage xx

COSSARS WINESHED

MARCH 7, 2020 - TAI TAPU, CANTERBURY

“Kate, the idea of marrying your high school sweetheart has in recent years become something quite rare, which is why I am so glad we found each other when we did.”

Scott and Kate's story began in the Marlborough Sounds, their respective families’ holiday destination, about 15 years ago. Kate’s first memory of Scott was seeing him playing with ducklings in a stream by the camp shop. Interactions between the two were brief for the first few years but without fail they would get back in contact in the weeks prior to heading up to Momorangi Bay. By the end of the third summer spent together, Scott and Kate were inseparable.

They would bus to the local cinema, watch a movie and sit in the food court hand-in-hand for hours without speaking a word to one another. They eventually ran out of movies to go to, so Kate would get her parents to drop her off at Scott’s house on the weekends. This continued every single weekend for years until the pair travelled to Mexico together, got engaged and finally moved out of home.

Scott and Kate’s wedding was held at Cossars Wineshed, a beautiful rural property in Tai Tapu, Canterbury. Cossars has a gloriously high ceilinged dining hall and a stunning outdoor courtyard. I loved the set up... vintage couches, festoon lights and Mexican bunting (the perfect touch for Scott and Kate!). Scott and Kate were looked after by Safia, the general manager - casual sophistication was what Safia was going for and she totally nailed it! Hannah Bird captured Scott and Kate’s day beautifully too, including their ‘First Look’ at a secret undisclosed location...

The ceremony was held in the vines, and quite frankly, my heart could hardly handle the beauty of such a magical spot! Scott and Kate chose to write their vows together but their ceremony included a special twist... each had considered what they love most about one another and shared with me individually, so that their words could be shared as a surprise during the ceremony. Scott went first, and then I shared Kate’s words on her behalf - which took considerable effort because I was trying not to cry (thanks team)! Absolute perfection…

“I promise to be there when you need me, to share life’s little moments with, to fill your days with laughs, weird antics and bad jokes, to comfort you and encourage you when you need it the most, to help you achieve everything you want out of life, to be your best friend, and to love you forever.”

Congratulations, you beauties xxx I wish you all the very best in your marriage :)
